At St Mark’s School we have a weekly lunchtime chess club that welcomes students from Year 0 all the way to Year 8. These students have the opportunity to learn from their peers and supporting teachers, and experience the thrill of a new hobby.
Students also compete for the coveted Chess Cups, encouraging them to achieve at the highest level in the school.
Students can work towards chess badges, demonstrating the level of skill as each student develops.
This year, we are delighted to have ten students representing our school in a Canterbury-wide Chess Schools Competition.
Congratulations to Harry S, Xavier F, Ben A and Islah S for passing their level one ‘Pawn’ badge test and to Ryan M, Piper E and Lincoln S for passing their level two ‘Knight’ badge test.
